Established in 2001, the Alexander Youth Services Center is a more than 140-bed residential treatment facility for male and female adjudicated Arkansas juveniles between the age of 10 and 17. Its facilities include a cafeteria, gymnasium, chapel, several residential units, and medical, administration and educational buildings. The Alexander Youth Services Center specializes in anger management, substance abuse prevention, conflict resolution, and individual and group counseling services. The institution additionally offers training for the development of problem-solving, decision-making and life skills for individuals with behavioral disorders and mental health diagnoses. Located in Alexander, Ark., the Alexander Youth Services Center is a part of Cornell Companies, which offers a range of educational and medical care programs for people with developmental and mental disabilities.
