The City Council works under the city government of Winslow, Ariz. It formulates agendas and handles administration activities of the city. The council operates building and inspection, code enforcement, library, recreation, parks, street and utility departments. The city hall operates a police department that works to preserve peace and deter criminal activities through the enforcement of local, state, and federal laws and ordinances. The City Council also works to provide fire suppression and prevention and emergency medical services. It additionally operates a library that maintains a variety of encyclopedias, maps, books, online resources, newspapers, magazines and educational materials.
