Whetstone Water Improvement District (WWID) is a small special taxing district located in Huachuca City, Arizona. Established in 1982, WWID serves a portion of the Whetstone area, providing water services to approximately 950 people through 370 service connections. With three wells in operation, including the recently drilled Well #3, WWID has the capacity to pump between 2 and 150 gallons per minute depending on demand. Equipped with storage tanks, booster pumps, and a pressure tank, the district ensures a reliable water supply, even during power outages, with the help of a propane generator. Additionally, WWID has installed Class C Hydrants throughout the district to support fire suppression efforts.
Managed by a five-member elected board, WWID operates under the oversight of two dedicated employees. The district holds regular monthly board meetings and posts meeting agendas on its website and various locations in the community. Committed to providing efficient and accessible service, WWID offers office hours on select days and can be contacted via phone or email. With a focus on water quality and customer satisfaction, WWID publishes annual Consumer Confidence Reports and adopts budgets to ensure the effective management of its operations.
