Tucson Water Treatment Plant is part of the Water Department of the city of Tucson, Ariz. It operates as a utility for serving both potable and non-potable water to a customer base of approximately 675,000 people located in a 375-square-mile area within the Tucson, Ariz., metropolitan area. The utility has a staff of more than 500 people, including approximately 60 at its water treatment facility. The role of Tucson Water is to provide a safe, reliable and sustainable water source to its customers while managing groundwater use to meet demand in future years. Tucson Water Treatment Plant includes the ozonation building, flocculation basins, filtration areas and chlorination facility. It is located west of Tucson along South Tucson Estates Parkway.
