History
The town of Sedona was named for the wife of T. Carl Schnebly, who came to this area in the late 1800s when there were only five other families. Carl wanted to establish a post office. Hesubmitted two names to the government -- Schnebly station and oak creek Crossing. Both were deemed too long for a cancellation stamp. Carls brother suggested his sister-in-law's name, Sedona. The postmaster liked it because it was short enough. Years later, Sedona became a mecca for filming Hollywood westerns and more than 40 pictures have filmed here. At Sedona memories, we have acquired many photos lobby cards and authentic movie posters of that era. So sit back, enjoy your meal and step back in time,Sedona style.
