Established in 1981, Miller Elementary School enrolls more than 700 students in kindergarten through grade five. It is governed by the Tucson Unified School District. The school offers the Opening Minds Through the Arts (OMA) program, which supports student achievement in reading, writing, math and social studies through an arts-integrated curriculum. Miller Elementary School also provides Spanish as a Second Language program for students. Additionally, it operates a preschool for special education students, as well as offers an after-school recreation program. The Tucson Unified School District administers various elementary, middle, high, magnet and alternative education schools. The school district s gifted and talented education program serves over 4,500 students in grades 1 through 10.
