Founded in 1990, the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections enhances public protection by changing the delinquent thinking and behaviors of juvenile offenders committed to the department. It manages various juvenile facilities that include Adobe Mountain School, Black Canyon School, Eagle Point School and Catalina Mountain School. The department develops and offers rehabilitative, treatment and educational services for juvenile offenders. The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections contracts with various agencies to provide residential, therapy, shelter care and counseling services for youths. It offers specialized treatment options for youth with substance abuse, dependency, sexual offense and mental health issues. The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections behavioral health program includes crisis intervention and family services.
