Horizon Community Learning Center, established in 1996, is a public nonprofit charter school providing continuous learning programs for students in kindergarten through high school. It has an enrollment of more than 1,300 students and comprises primary, intermediate, middle and high schools. Its schools offer courses in language arts, foreign languages, math, science and social studies. Additionally, it provides physical and special education programs. The athletic programs offered by the schools include baseball, basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, cross country golf, soccer, softball, and track and field. Its schools additionally have various clubs and organizations, such as the National Junior Honor Society, student council, chess, Hands Across the Border, and Japanese, leadership, literary magazine, math, rocket, rock climbing and wilderness clubs. It also provides a wide range of extracurricular activities, such as band, dance, drama and creative writing. Located in Phoenix, it serves students of areas, including the Ahwatukee Foothills, Casa Grande, Chandler, Gilbert, Guadalupe, Maricopa, Mesa and Tempe communities in Arizona.
