Established in 1987, Grijalva Elementary School offers educational opportunities for more than 700 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school maintains a work force of more than 30 employees. Grijalva Elementary School conducts classes in mathematics, history, reading, science, writing, art and science. The school also operates a parent-teacher-student association. Grijalva Elementary School has a student council, library and cafeteria. The school provides a language arts program that develops students proficiency in various aspects, including vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, spelling and grammar. Grijalva Elementary School is a part of the Tucson Unified School District, which governs various elementary, middle and high schools.
