History
Our historic building was originally constructed in 1920 as Peoria's first movie theater. In 1947 it was damaged by a fire and rebuilt. It was then converted into Fire Station #1 when Peoria was incorporated in 1954. It operated as a fire station until 2006. The fire house sat empty for many years until it was rescued and revitalized into Lucidi Distilling Co. in 2018. Word got out and pretty soon firefighters began dropping off memorabilia to display on the walls. From helmets to turnouts to retirement tags, Fire House has been honored to display the pieces of this city's history. In 2020 the Lucidi family decided to reopen the venue to private parties, events and weddings. At Fire House Event Center we are proud of the building's history and hope it can continue to be shared with the community of Peoria.
