History
In 1977 when Ann Fabricant met Abe Miller, his arts and crafts village, Tlaquepaque, was almost four years old. Most stores were filled with artists and their wares. A native of Colorado, Fabricant had heard about Tlaquepaque at the Denver Art Museum and decided to drive down to see it. She met Miller, and he agreed to hold a store space for four months until the struggling, single mother and artist could move with her son to Sedona. That store space would later evolve into Cocopah. It was a very empowering experience for her to move to Sedona with her son, start her own business and make her own living. She switched crafts from painting to beading and bead kits. The store also carries estate jewelry.
