CARF, also known as Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, is an international, private accreditor located in Tucson, Ariz. It provides accreditation to human service providers and networks in the areas of aging services, behavioral health, child and youth services, medical rehabilitation, and employment and community services. It reviews and grants accreditation services nationally and internationally. The accreditation services are provided throughout the CARF family of organizations, which includes CARF International, CARF Canada, and CARF-CCAC. CARF is a nonprofit organization that is financed by fees from accreditation surveys, sales of publications, grants from public entities and fees from seminars and conferences. It was founded in 1966.
