ASCRS, also known as the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, is an independent, nonprofit organization that was founded in 1974. It is a source of up-to-date information on scientific developments and regulatory decisions that affect ophthalmic practices for physicians. ASCRS administers several multifaceted educational programs that include a variety of options for ophthalmologists to meet their learning styles and needs. The organization also operates an online journal of cataract and refractive surgery. Its ASCRS Foundation operates Robert M. Sinskey Pediatric Eyecare Clinic.
