The Yukon River Drainage Fisheries Association, also known as YRDFA, is a nonprofit association of subsistence and commercial fishers. Founded in 1990, the association preserves subsistence fisheries and enhances commercial fisheries. The Yukon River Drainage Fisheries Association also serves as a research organization that conserves the Yukon River wild salmons throughout their life cycles. It operates a forum for riverwide communication regarding fishery issues. The association solves a range of problems through stakeholder collaboration in fisheries management. The Yukon River Drainage Fisheries Association works in various program areas, such as policy advocacy, cultural preservation, economic opportunity, information sharing, and conservation and restoration.
