History
Urban Yeti Improv was founded by Mallory and John Hanus in 2013, with the goal of bringing diverse, long-form improv to the Last Frontier. UYI players are trained in multiple forms of theatre and improvisation. Yeti also frequently participates in community events, fundraisers and festivals.
Specialties
Welcome to Urban Yeti Improv, a masterful improvisational comedy experience. With regularly rotating formats, UYI shows are diverse as they are entertaining. Performances are inspired by an array of sources, and rely heavily on audience participation. Established in 2013, Urban Yeti is proud to be a pioneer in bringing long-form improv to the last frontier! The combined improv experience of UYI members spans decades. Yeti has travelled all over the country, not only to perform, but to broaden improv understanding through continued education. Past exploits include the Alaska State Improv Festival (Juneau, AK), Del Close Marathon (New York, NY), and Out of Bounds Comedy Festival (Austin, TX). Find the Yeti on Facebook and Twitter to keep up on all the latest. Tickets are available for purchase for $10 at the door, or through CenterTix.net (ticketing fees apply). Urban Yeti performs locally at 49th State Brewing Company (formerly Snow Goose). A full service bar is available, so individuals must be 21 or older with valid ID to enter. Minors (age 14+) must be accompanied by own parent or legal guardian. We believe improv is fun for all ages, but we must advise of possibly mature content.
