The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities is responsible for the management and maintenance of airports, highways and ports. The department operates a ports and harbors section that provides design, technical and administrative services for coastal and harbor projects to federal, state and local agencies throughout Alaska. The department offers services for over 300 aviation facilities, including Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and Fairbanks International Airport. The department maintains a measurement standards and commercial vehicle enforcement division that is responsible for the enforcement of vehicle regulations.
