History
James M. Halfpenny, PT, GCS, OCS, COMT, FAAOMPT Board Certified Specialist in Geriatrics, Orthopedics and Orthopedic Manual Therapy Jim grew up in Southern California and graduated from the University of California, Davis in 1985 with a BS in Biology. Jim became a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in 1989 and graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 1992 with a BS in Physical Therapy. Jim became a board certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist in 1998. Jim completed his Orthopedic Manual Therapy training through level III from the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 2001. In the summer of 2001, Jim and his family moved to Alaska, and he has been treating patients here in the Eagle River area ever since. Jim has completed both a residency and fellowship program through The Ola Grimsby Institute in Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Like many Alaskans, Jim enjoys hiking, fishing, and hockey.
