The firm was founded in 1973 in Anchorage, the largest city in the State of Alaska and the transportation hub for both interstate and intrastate travel. We have four attorneys, three paralegals, a legal secretary, file clerk and an IT specialist on our staff. While we are small by Lower '48 standards, for three decades we have successfully handled large and small litigation matters in communities from Barrow to Ketchikan and Fairbanks to Unalaska. We accomplish this both because of our combined 60+ years of years of experience and as a result of our commitment to the use of technology. As litigation has become more expensive, the search for a way to successfully and economically defend cases without abdicating the ability to go to trial led us to install and TimeMap to our systems. These are premier litigation management software programs that result in better time efficiency for our staff and savings to our clients. Each attorney and paralegal has the ability to electronically access all of the documents and transcripts in a case from our desktop personal computers. We can review the entire file ; attach notes to individual documents or to lines in a transcript ; review the notes made by others working on the case ; link documents ; create chronologies ; conduct searches ; and prepare reports in the office and while abroad. This allows us to eliminate a number of non-productive repetitive actions raising the quality and efficiency of our work while lowering the cost of litigation. This has improved case analysis and deposition preparation. The post-deposition use of transcripts in trial preparation has been enhanced as the search and linking features allow us to track facts and exhibits through the course of multiple depositions, thereby building a more focused case. In addition to our trial experience, we are well versed in Alternative Dispute Resolution ( ADR ), the process of resolving legal conflicts without going to trial. We have extensive experience in determining when a form of ADR is in the best interest of the clients and meets their needs better than traditional litigation techniques. Timothy Lynch has trained in mediation at the Northern California Mediation Center.
