Established in 1985, Alaskan AIDS Assistance Association is a nonprofit AIDS service organization. The center provides one-on-one case management, housing assistance and other supportive services to people living with human immunodeficiency virus, as well as HIV prevention case management and related programs. It also provides relevant information and education to make the Alaskan community aware of HIV. It offers a volunteer help line service in Anchorage, Alaska, which provides early care education, client services and assistance and relief, to people infected with HIV and their families. The center evaluates the client's natural support network, and works to ensure coordinated access to health and social services. It is providing direct services to more than 300 individuals suffering from HIV and AIDS and their families, and offers prevention services to over 30,000 persons annually. The association is located in Anchorage.
