The United States Secret Service is a federal law enforcement agency based in Washington, D.C. with more than 150 offices throughout the United States and abroad. Established in 1865, the agency mainly focuses to suppress the counterfeiting of U.S. currency. The United States Secret Service has made nearly 29,000 criminal arrests for counterfeiting, cyber investigations and other financial crimes. The agency is responsible for the protection of national and visiting foreign leaders and criminal investigations.
