Founded in 1972, Montgomery Area Council on Aging offers community-based services for senior citizens. It maintains the Archibald Senior Center and conducts classes in computers and arts and crafts. The organization offers educational and health care services, as well as provides opportunities for recreational activities, games and exercising. Montgomery Area Council on Aging sponsors the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program that includes contributions of senior citizens to schools, libraries, hospitals, government offices, and nonprofit and health-related agencies. Additionally, it offers nutrition and transportation services. The organization also provides outreach services and offers assistance with homemaking.
