Established in 1951, Lincoln Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has received designation as a Department of Defense (DoD) Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) and a DoD research and development laboratory. It conducts research related to defense for military services, Office of the Secretary of Defense, intelligence community and other government agencies. The laboratory's microelectronics laboratory features a state-of-the-art semiconductor research and fabrication facility that supports its laboratory programs. Lincoln Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology performs research on information extraction, communications, and integrated sensing and decision support.
