"The first day I came to Liberty National I enjoyed what I did, and I still enjoy what I do every day. When you have fun and get paid for it, nothing is better!" That's how Dothan Agency Owner, John Brooks, describes his 30-year career with Liberty National Life Insurance Company. John came to Liberty National by way of his dad, who was a good friend of a Liberty National Agent and had himself worked for a company associated with Liberty National. When his friend retired from Liberty National, John's dad suggested John talk with the Liberty National Agency Owner. At the time, John was working in a farm supply company and was receptive to a change. Fast forward 30 years and John is still enjoying what he does. During his many years of service, John has been appointed to the Council of Champions 10 times and had the opportunity to watch Liberty National grow and develop. A lot has changed, but one thing that remains constant is the value Liberty National products provide to customers. "About six months after I joined Liberty National," recalls John "I wrote a life insurance policy on a Friday night for a friend. On Saturday night he was killed in an auto accident. When you die, your ability to make money dies with you, but your family's need for income continues. A life insurance policy keeps money coming into the household." The most rewarding part of John's longtime association with Liberty National is the opportunity to help people, whether it's assisting customers as an Agent or training and developing his Agency as a Manager. John views a Liberty National career as "the chance of a lifetime to change your life and your family's life if you are willing to work. And working for Liberty National provides the opportunity to control both your career and your income." Community responsibility is what it means to work for Liberty National Life Insurance Company. In addition to providing valuable Liberty National products to the area, John and the Dothan Agency are involved in the community in other ways. "We have a booth at the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life," says John "and I play in golf tournaments each year to support local events." In addition to work, John volunteers as a board member in his church and on several city boards and is vice president of the School Board. He loves spending time outdoors in the beautiful Alabama weather playing golf or just hanging out with family and friends.
