Opened in 2002, Florence-Lauderdale Public Library has a collection of nearly 100,000 books, audio books, music CDs and movies. Based in Florence, Ala., the library comprises four departments, including circulation, reference, teens, kids and history. It offers services, including computer classes, interlibrary loan (ILL), meeting rooms and writing workshops. The computer class offers a variety of topics from learning the parts of the computer and movement of the mouse to acquiring skills for Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint programs. Florence-Lauderdale Public Library has partnerships with other organizations, such as Coffee-ol-ogy and The Friends of the Library Bookstore.
