A LITTLE BIT ... In the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama, youth are not only the future of the Church, youth are the Church of today! Through work projects, retreats, and conventions, youth in grades 7th-12th graders are experiencing youth ministry in 12 Diocesan-wide events per year. In their hometowns, throughout the state, and even in other countries, young people are carrying out the work of the Church, living in Christian community, and enjoying the fellowship that is a defining component of effective youth ministry. In the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama, youth ministry is an important part of who we are and what we represent. Leaders in youth ministry are represented in both the clergy and lay delegations. We are fortunate to have our Diocesan Youth program being coordinated by two Diocesan staff members, fulland part-time parish youth ministers, and a manifold of volunteer advisors. Further, groups such as the Junior High Ministries Committee, the Happening Steering Committee, the New Beginnings Design Team, and the Youth Department provide opportunities for young people and adults to facilitate diocesan-wide youth events and continue to fortify a strong Episcopal youth program.
