East Alabama Mental Health Center, established in 1967, is a nonprofit medical center offering health care services and support programs to patients throughout Lee, Russell, Chambers and Tallapoosa counties in Alabama. It provides diagnosis and treatment to patients suffering from emotional trauma, cognitive impairments, developmental disabilities, mental disorders and substance abuse. The services offered by the center include psychological testing and psychotherapy, diagnostic evaluation, physical and occupational therapies and social developmental programs. The additional services offered by the center include counseling and referrals, case management, crises intervention, psychiatric evaluations and medication monitoring. It also organizes health camps and undertakes substance abuse prevention and community outreach programs. East Alabama Mental Health Center is located in Opelika, Ala.
