Over the centuries, the arrangement of Christian sacred buildings has developed symbolism intended to make visible the historic & cosmic proclamation of faith in Christ. At Highwood Lutheran Church, worship is “in the round.” The ancient traditions presented in our architecture and symbolism look to the empty cross above the stone altar, reminding us of Christ’s resurrection after being sealed in the rocky tomb. Highwood’s architecture; by highlighting the centrality of the Eucharist and the wonder of the resurrection, integrated with the full majesty of music from Opus 81 - the oldest pipe organ in Alberta, presents the gospel with a physicality that is unique and wonderful. Worship here brings the 19th. century to the 21st. century¬ as we celebrate every Sunday at 10:30, both live and online.
